THE SALT DEVELOPMENT TEAM
Thomas Vegh and Brian Hobbs founded SALT Development in response to a market opportunity for a professional company that not only possessed a strong knowledge of the construction process, but also combined that knowledge with a passion to develop projects that exceeded customer expectations… where office projects become Creative Sanctuaries and multifamily projects become Urban Resorts.
SALT’s management team is comprised of seasoned industry executives having extensive knowledge and experience in all facets of the design-build process and able to deliver a full spectrum of project types including office, industrial, multifamily, hospitality, and healthcare. Our leadership style is known to be collaborative when determining the optimum design solution and then equally decisive once the project has launched. We are very much “hands-on” managers that employ proven proprietary controls to mitigate risk for our stakeholders at every step of the development process while delivering maximum returns for our investors (pension funds, REITs and high net-worth individuals).
Thomas Vegh provides direction and vision for SALT Development. His leadership experience started early in life as a USMC officer and fighter pilot. Subsequently, after receiving his MBA from the University of Southern California and completing studies at Harvard Business School, he continued honing his leadership skills at fortune 500 companies and as CEO and owner of The Corinthian Group. Having spent many years traveling abroad, Thomas would study local design and architecture and the impact it had on the soul. This experience led him to start developing real estate that broke the mold of what everyone else was developing… beautiful projects that truly exceed the expectations of all.
After completing a Civil Engineering Degree from Brigham Young University, Brian Hobbs joined Layton Construction and became a senior executive overseeing the successful completion of many projects; including acute care hospitals, MOBs, offices, museums and art centers, fitness complexes, multifamily and mixed-use commercial facilities. Today Brian provides oversight and strategy from inception to completion for all SALT’s development projects including contracts, budgets, schedules, and selection of GCs and design firms. From creation of initial pro-forma assumptions and preconstruction modeling to final budgets and schedules, Brian ensures SALT’s stakeholders not only have a complete understanding of the details that comprise the “big picture”, but Brian also ensures that each quality project is completed on time and on budget.
